Essential oils are extracted from plants and tress. Essential oil mouthwashes are better than traditional mouthwash. Essential oil mouthwash have capacity to cure gingivitis and halitosis. Now a days essential oils are extensively used in commercial mouthwashes.
But what is halitosis?
Halitosis simply means bad breath. A bad and unpleasant odor occurs when you exhale. It is also called fetor oris.What produces such bad odor?

Chlorhexidine gluconate is used as an active ingredient in mouthwash because that reduces dental plaque and oral bacteria. Chlorhexidine lasts longer in mouth than the other mouthwash and that is why it is more preferred in curing gingitivits.
